Property markets continued the busy start to 2022 in February, marking the fastest start to the year for new listings in capital cities since 2014.

New listings in capital cities surged 27.8% month-on-month in February to continue the already strong start to the year. This increase brought new listings 14% higher than a year ago.

Regionally, new listings also picked up, growing 26.5% month-on-month in February. This will come as welcome news for buyers regionally, who have been facing few options for much of the pandemic.

Nationally, the total number of properties listed for sale grew 11.3% month-on-month in February, the largest monthly increase since the pandemic began.

This monthly report analyses new and total listings on to provide the most up-to-date view on property market supply trends.
